May 2000 Founded BB Technologies Corporation (current SOFTBANK BB Corp.)
Sep. 2001 Launched commercial service of ‘Yahoo! BB’
Dec. 2001 Announced start of trial service of IP phone, ‘BB Phone.’
Nagoya Metallic Communications Corp. (current SOFTBANK BB Corp.) introduced ‘BB Phone’ across the town of Oguchi, Aichi Prefecture jointly with the SOFTBANK Group, Yahoo Japan Corporation and the town of Oguchi, and promoted ‘Cyber Town Plan.’
Apr. 2002 Started full-fledged experiments of ‘Yahoo! BB Mobile,’ super-high-speed wireless Internet connection service.
Launched commercial service of ‘BB Phone.’
May 2002 Number of subscribers to ‘Yahoo! BB’ exceeded 500,000.

Dec. 2005 Divided SOFTBANK BB Corp. into BB TECHNOLOGY Corp. and SOFTBANK BB Corp. (newly established company) along with reorganization of broadband business.
JAPAN TELECOM CO., LTD. (current SOFTBANK TELECOM Corp.) and Microsoft Co., Ltd. formed a strategic business alliance to provide instant messaging integrated communications service for corporate users.

Jun. 2006 Established Kitakyushu Network Operation Center (NOC).
Jul. 2006 Permitted by Kanto Bureau of Telecommunications, Ministry of International Affairs and Communications to install equipments for high-speed power line communication for experiments.
