
According to preliminary figures, the number of subscribers to the "Yahoo! BB" comprehensive broadband service, jointly provided by SOFTBANK BB Corp. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masayoshi Son) and Yahoo Japan Corporation (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masahiro Inoue), exceeded the two million mark today.
"Yahoo! BB" began to operate as a commercial service in September 2001. By late September 2002, 12 months after the service was launched, the number of subscribers had reached more than one million. Within just four months of reaching that level, the number of subscribers have climbed to more than two million; 16 months after the commercial service began.
We will release more details on "Yahoo! BB" and "BB phone" subscribers as of the end of January 2003 at a later date.
