
SOFTBANK BB uses, jointly uses and provides to a third party personal information for the purpose of providing customers with telecommunication service in the following cases.
1) Purpose of Use of Personal Information
1. For providing customer support by handling inquiries from customers, by explaining procedures for and providing information on use of service offered by SOFTBANK BB
2. For charge calculation
3. For invoicing bills
4. For market research and analysis
5. For offering information on products, service and campaign of SOFTBANK BB and other companies
6. For providing relevant personal information necessary for interconnection and related work required for provision of SOFTBANK BB services to agreed operators including NIPPON TELEGRAPH AND TELEPHONE EAST CORPORATION (NTT East), NIPPON TELEGRAPH AND TELEPHONE WEST CORPORATION (NTT West) and SOFTBANK TELECOM Corp.
7. For notifying provision of information contributing to development of the information communication industry and to improvement of customer service
8. For performing support operations for the construction and maintenance of SOFTBANK BB services and for responding to the failure, etc. of SOFTBANK BB services
9. For performing other operations necessary for providing SOFTBANK BB services and ancillary services
Furthermore, in any case where personal information shall be used other than the purposes mentioned above, SOFTBANK BB will clarify the purpose of use and obtain prior consent from the customer concerned.
2) Shared information
SOFTBANK BB jointly uses personal information obtained for the purpose of providing telecommunication service in the following cases.
a. Parties jointly using information with SOFTBANK BB
b. Jointly used personal information
Any personal information including name, address, phone number, e-mail address and customer ID that SOFTBANK BB acquires from customers at the time of application for and during a service period of the telecommunication service (excluding cases where provision of such information infringes the secrecy of communications).
c. Purpose of joint use
1. For providing customer support by handling inquiries from customers, by explaining procedures for and providing information on use of service offered by SOFTBANK BB
2. For charge calculation
3. For invoicing bills
4. For market research and analysis
5. For offering information on products, service and campaign of SOFTBANK BB and other companies
6. For notifying provision of information contributing to development of the information communication industry and to improvement of customer service
7. For determining whether or not to provide goods or services relevant to SOFTBANK BB’s joint users and their actual provision

3) Provision to Third Parties
a. In relation to personal information (name, address, birth date, phone number, timing of nonpayment, and amount of nonpayment and information about a dispute on arrears if applicable) of a customer whose telecommunication service contract is terminated and who actually has delinquency for such telecommunication service, SOFTBANK BB may share and use such personal information with SOFTBANK TELECOM Corp. and SOFTBANK MOBILE Corp. for screening at the time of application for the purpose of preventing any nonpayment of charge from occurring. SOFTBANK BB remains liable for the management of such shared personal information.
b. SOFTBANK BB, with the purpose of responding to inquiries about eligibility to subscribe to voice discount service between IP phone designated by SOFTBANK BB and mobile phone designated by SOFTBANK BB, and of notification of the relevant service subscription status, may provide personal information (phone number, customer ID, status of the relevant service subscription and the like) of a customer of SOFTBANK BB who is eligible for subscription of the relevant service to a family member of the relevant customer who is a subscriber of a mobile telecommunication operator designated by SOFTBANK BB via the relevant operator.
c. In cases where SOFTBANK BB’s telecommunication service is used as a telecommunications facility for mobile telecommunications, SOFTBANK BB may provide the personal information of customers (subscription status, changes in information, etc.) for the purpose of determining whether or not to provide the service and of performing the appropriate maintenance of registered information to mobile telecommunications operator subscribers designated by SOFTBANK BB via the relevant operator.
4) To use telecommunication service of SOFTBANK BB, it may be needed for a customer to conclude a contract of telecommunication service with agreed operators including NIPPON TELEGRAPH AND TELEPHONE EAST CORPORATION (NTT East) and NIPPON TELEGRAPH AND TELEPHONE WEST CORPORATION (NTT West) in addition to SOFTBANK BB.
For the customer's convenience or due to an agreement with agreed operators, SOFTBANK BB may carry out contract procedures, payments and any other procedures on behalf of the agreed operators.
In such case, SOFTBANK BB may receive notification of the customer's personal information needed for contract procedures, payments and any other procedures from the agreed operators.
5) Information related to secrecy of communication such as communications records, calling records and caller information shall be handled pursuant to the "Japan's Telecommunications Business Law" Article 4 and any other related regulations and guidelines.
1) In cases where a customer requests SOFTBANK BB to notify the purpose of use of personal information, disclose or correct personal information that SOFTBANK BB has acquired from the relevant customer, SOFTBANK BB will reply in writing (however, if the relevant customer agrees on a different method, the relevant method shall be used). SOFTBANK BB may demand a fee within a reasonable range fairly considering the actual cost spent for the relevant replay.
2) Please contact the following for a request by a principal for disclosure and correction of personal information acquired by SOFTBANK BB from the relevant customer, and complaints concerning the handling of personal information.
